CHA Class photos and instructions

Michelle and Trisha of Fire and Ice Designs taught a class to retailers on behalf of Prima Marketing, Inc. the Thursday prior to the start of CHA featuring the uber popular DUDE collection of papers and embellishments as well as the Build-A-Book. Read on for tips and tricks on how you can recreate this super fun "Summer Days" mini album too:)

To: start spray Prima Daisy Chain white velvet ribbon with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist is Tiger Lily, Patina and Key Lime. Set aside to dry.

You can also remover the white protective covering from BOTH sides of the Prima Build-A-Book pages. This is easiest when you wet the corner and the paper will then peel off when gently rubbed on the wet corner. You can then also outline all pages with the white or black Permaopaque pen by Sakura.
Adhere Star Build-A-Book page to paper and trim. Outline page and doodle around edges with Sakura Permaopaque Dual-Tipped marker. Adhere lace and flowers to Prima Journaling card using FabriTak by Beacon Adhesives. Use Crop-A-Dile by We R Memory Keepers to repunch ring holes. Attach Prima Journalist Chipboard letters. These ones were sprayed with Patina colored Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels first, giving the letters a beautiful hint of shimmer when you look closely:)
Adhere orange piece of patterned paper over holes. Attach green paper at an angle and form circle embellishment by cutting 2 circles from patterned paper and adhering them to corner of photo matte using pop dots to give more dimension. Embellish with Prima flowers and leaves. For the flower center, spray Daisy Chain velvet ribbon by Prima with Patina colored Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels.

Attach orange patterned paper to scalloped edge Build-A-Book page. Form a pocket for the tags using the Prima Journaling Cards by applying FabriTak to only 3 edges (leaving the top open) so tags can be inserted. Apply self adhesive Voila Button trim by Prima and embellish with Prima flower cluster. Glue ribbon to tops of tags and insert in pocket.
Round 2 corners on photo matte, Adhere black Elysee Lace by Prima along the top of the back of the photo matte. Attach Journal Card to back of matte taking care to ensure it will not extend past the edges of the paper showing through from the other side. Apply green and yellow ribbon to photo matte using a drop of adhesive at either end. Once dry, tie a piece of ribbon around the middle as shown. Adhere Prima flower cluster. Add Prima Journalist Chipbboard letters for title and doodle on them using the Sakura Permaopaque markers.
Adhere patterned papers as shown, using care for adhesive placement (you don't want it to show through on the other side!). Use FabriTak to adhere Prima flowers and leaves. Tuck in a Prima Say It In Crystals segment ( note: your Crystal in your kit may differ from the one shown. The idea is to just add a bit of extra fun!). As an option, you can use the Sakura Permaopque marker to doodle in the clear Build-A-Book page.
Cut a portion of the blue or green flowery shape from the white patterned paper. Adhere along an edge of burgundy patterned paper using pop dots to give more dimension. Embellish with a large Prima flower that has been cut in half and another flower layered on top. A nice option for you to consider is to use the Ranger Crystal Stickles to add a bit of bling to your flowers throughout the book.
Adhere white patterned paper in the lower left corner by applying adhesvit to ONLY 3 of the edges (leave the right side open). This will form a pocket in which you can stick your tag. Attach the orange patterned paper about 1/2" in from the top left corner. Embellish with Prima flower cluster, Say it in Crystal Swirl segments and cut out embellishments from remaining patterned papers. Adhere the title across the top as shown and add Ranger Glossy Accents to give a glass like finish to your letters. Punch a hole in the top center of your green tag with the Crop-A-Dile and tie dotted ribbon through hole and then slide into pocket.
Cut a 1/2" frame from striped patterned paper. Use backside (red piece) of center and adhere to page as shown, Use pop dots to attach frame in opposite direction. Trim Prima journal card to show only the words. Attach to the bottom of the frame. Embellish with Prima flower cluster and leaves.

Using the remaining 2 Prima Journaling Cards, lie them black side up with the flat edges lined up together. Lightly spray the Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels over the paper. Once dry, place the Tattered Angels Butterfly shaped Glimmer Screen over top, trying to keep it center. LIGHTLY spray the Key Lime and Patina coloured Glimmer Mists over the screen. If you spray too much, the colours will seep beneath the mask, causing a less than clear image. Carefully remove screen. Once dry, use Build- A-Book page as a template to punch 4 (four) holes on journaling pages so they can be inserted into the book as an additional spot for journalling or pictures. Outline the butterfly image with Ranger Stickles, as shown in this picture.

Attach striped paper to last Build-A-Book Page. Adhere Prima lace along right edge of page.
Round corners (optional) and layer strips of patterned papers, including photo matte, as shown. Add letters that have been decorated with dots made with the Sakura Permaopaque pens. Embellish with a Prima flower and leaves.

This last page is optional... not all people feel it's necessary to decorate the back of an album. This page was created using the remnants in your kit (Voila button strip and Crystal Swirl segment).

Bind all pages together with the Prima 1.5" binder rings. Feel free to decorate the rings with ribbons or flowers.

Well... that's all for now! Please let us know if you have ANY questions whatsoever!
